Krishna Teacher education institution was established in 1963, affiliated to Dept. of General Education, Kerala state and approved by Board of Govt. Examinations Kerala state and National council for teacher education.

Initially the name of the TTI was Krishna basic training school. It was begun with 4 graduate teachers with a batch of 40 students under the leadership of the headmaster Jayarajan. In 1989 it celebrated it's silver jubilee and in 2013 it's golden jubilee.
